Overview
A slow afternoon with a traveling chef—cooking from the back of her converted van, tucked into a forest clearing just outside town.
Everything was simple. A fold-out table, a cast iron skillet, herbs hung from a window, the scent of garlic drifting through the trees. She cooked barefoot, sleeves rolled, hands moving with the rhythm of memory. Recipes passed down, adjusted, adapted. Everything made from scratch, from wherever she happened to be.
We didn’t stage anything. I just followed the process—steam rising in cold air, butter melting, smoke curling into golden light. There was a story in every gesture, every ingredient, every bite.
The Nomadic Kitchen is about presence and place. About nourishment that’s not just food, but ritual. And about what it means to create home, even when that home has wheels.
Shot on digital and 35mm film. Edited with warm tones, earthy shadows, and documentary honesty.
